We usually refer to long distance moving as any move that crosses state lines and is over approximately 75 miles. This type of move is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation. When making a move, it is important to use state and interstate licensed movers because that will guarantee that the company you choose is also insured.

We provide service to all points in the United States. On Interstate moves there is a 1000 lb pound minimum. This usually would equal out to a room of furniture. Not sure if you have the minimum  required to transport? Please call us and we will be happy to assist you!  

Interstate moves are priced according to weight or cubic feet. We charge by the cubic foot and the weight. By using this method, we can guarantee the cost of your move before it has been loaded onto our truck and provide you with the complete cost of your move to the last penny. Prices based on weight are usually estimates and can be adjusted after the truck has been weighed. A generally accepted industry standard equation for comparing estimates of weight to cubic feet is divide weight by 7 to get cubic feet or to multiply cubic feet by 7 to get weight. The cost of interstate moves are broken down into 3 parts:

•          Transportation - The Transportation is the price you pay to transport your goods from point A to point B. As stated, we charge by the cubic foot. The price per cubic foot varies with the distance of the move.
•          Packing - There is no charge for professional packing of furniture using blanket padding or basic disassembly and reassembly upon delivery of furniture when needed. In addition, we provide packing/crating services for all your household contents such as,but not limited to; china, linens, books, pictures, artwork, etc. The price for this service is based on the number of boxes requiring packing and/or crate size. Plasma televisions are now required to be crated by a third party crating service per Allied Van Lines, Inc. Your sales associate will discuss your options with you to schedule the crating at your convenience.
•          Insurance - Included in your move costs, at no additional charge, is the basic insurance coverage of $.60 per pound as is required by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. You can obtain other types of coverage called Valuation  through AA Varco Moving & Storage/Interstate Agent for Allied Van Lines, Inc. 

In addition to these primary cost components, you may be subject to other charges on a special needs basis. As example, there may be extra charges for custom made wooden crates, hoisting, or stairs at the delivery destination. Sometimes at origin and/or destination a shuttle service will need to be performed. this is due to state, city, town or housing complex rules and regulations not permiting tractor trailers in certain areas. This is out of our control and is the responsibility of the customer to make sure that tractor trailer delivery is possible at origin and destination. Shuttle services are an additional charge, if needed. Our sales associates will go over this with you during your appointment.
